Dance Like Nobody’s Watching!

By Allison Sadlier // SWNS

What Are the Songs Driving People to Dance, Even if they are Alone?

Three in five Americans are boosting their moods after so much time at home with indoor dance parties and karaoke sessions, according to a new poll.

Two in five have even embraced viral trends and learned a new dance, while 38% have thrown a party with friends via video chat.

The study of 2,000 Americans examined the important role music has played in light of current events.

When asked what songs respondents want on their socially distanced dance party playlist, current hits like “Rain on Me” from Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa, “Say So” from Doja Cat and “Hot Girl Summer” by Megan Thee Stallion were mixed in with classics like “September” from Earth Wind and Fire and “Hey Ya!” by Outkast.”

And when asked about the best dance songs of all time, Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” came out on top of a predetermined list of dance favorites.

“Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson and “Stayin’ Alive” from The Bee Gees also made it into the top three.

Four in five (79%) cited music as a way to help them stay connected with others while social distancing.

The survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Ultimate Ears found when it came to the genres that lifted respondents’ spirits the most, hip hop came out on top with 50%.

Rock (47%), pop (45%), country (42%) and dance/electronic music (31%) rounded out the top five mood-boosting genres.

KMSB Fox 11 Segment featuring the Motorola Moto Z Droid from Verizon

In todays segment, I featured the Moto Z Droid from Motorola/Lenovo with Service from Verizon. The Moto Z runs on Android Marshmallow and will eventually be updated for the upcoming Nougat platform.

What’s nice about the device is the ability to add to the Moto Z with snap on devices which connect via magnets embedded in the smartphone and devices. The latest offering for MotoMod is the Hassleblad True Zoom, It looks amazing!

We looked at the MotoMod Insta-Share Projector which can give you the ability to run a projector off your device.

The Moto Z is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor running at 2.2Ghz with 4GB of Memory. It is available in 32GB or 64GB Storage and of course upgradable with a microSD card.

The Moto Z also features a fingerprint sensor on the device which can be a bit confusing as I constantly was hitting it think it was a home button. This is understandable because my personal phone is an apple product. The Moto Z uses a USB Type C connector and doesn’t include a headphone port, Bluetooth it is or a provided Dongle type connector to the USB  Type C Port.

The rear camera is 13MP with the ability to shoot 4k video and adjust is as you would a DSLR however I think most would just set it on auto. The Forward 5MP also features a flash for your selfies! Screen size is 5.5 and the device itself is incredible thin!

Check out more video at TechtalkRadio coming this week on the features and the MotoMods.

There are so many different uses for technology in our life and the lifestyle zones for customers of the Verizon Wireless store will feature a Get Fit area giving a better hands on look at how active sports and fitness consumers or those wanting to engage a better fitness lifestyle can benefit with the technology available.

There are many options in Audio with our devices and that is where the “Amplify It” section will appeal to those wanting a better listening experience for themselves or for a room of people. Bluetooth speakers of different sizes and types will be available to listen to for the ear of those needing a speaker solution.

Another section includes a “Have Fun” area with some of the newest and enjoyable games. This is extremely popular for those with children looking for education/learning titles that can be paired with a tablet or even smartphones. We’ve featured devices such as “Ollie” along with Word and Shapes toys which can turn a road trip into a learning experience.

One of my favorite areas in the Lifestyle Zones has got to be Home on the Go. This is where a consumer could get a first hand look at “Canary” the easiest to set up and use Home Monitoring Cam I’ve ever used. Other Home Monitoring options and devices are also on display at the Verizon Wireless Smart Store.

With the different areas consumers can also benefit with workshops for those looking to tie in some of these devices added to their digital lifestyle along with new tablets and smartphones. These free in-store customizable wireless workshops are set to provide personalized hands-on training
