Eric Roberts on Tweeting, Acting and Music

I had the opportunity to talk with Actor Eric Roberts this morning about his appearance tonight in NBC’s Action Comedy “Chuck” We talked about the fun behind shooting a show like this and how it was going to be a suprise guesting to his friend Zachary Levi who is Chuck. Eric told me how the “cat got out of the bag” which seems to be harder to keep secrets these days because of the internet.

With an Actor of Eric’s talents and years of work, he has developed many passions that he is able to share with the followers on his Twitter Account, especially that of music. Eric has been in several Music Videos for artist from Akon to Mariah Carey and every one of them has been succesful. He also shared with us one of his favorite new artist musically, that of his talented stepson Keaton Simons. The website for Keaton features his music and news of upcoming events. http://www.keatonsimons.com

With the ability to use Twitter as a celebrity and share promotional events and newfound passions with the followers, the downside of the internet is the loss of privacy and the ability to have a surprise. Eric told me that you have to realize that this is the way of the world and if you don’t beleive it, your “only deceiving” yourself. Tune in and listen to segment with Actor Eric Roberts and watch for him in Tonights Episode of Chuck and the film currently in production “New York Heartbeat.”  Be sure to visit the Official Eric Roberts Website at http://www.ericrobertsactor.com and also listen to our chat with Eric Roberts at http://www.techtalkradio.com/celebrities/ericroberts.html

Sony Vegas Pro 10 – What’s New

A Box Shot of the Sony Vegas Pro 10 Software
Sony Vegas Pro 10

Andy Taylor spoke with Sony Creative Software Product Manager for Sony Vegas Pro 10 Matthew Brohn this afternoon about some of the new features and updates in the Video Editing program. One of the most unique featured added is the ability within the program to edit videos shot in Stereoscopic 3D. This is becoming a trend in specialty productions and Sony has this capability to edit and fine tune the process in the program.

Matthew shared with Andy some of the features involving the Open Effects architecture for plug-in effects that should see strong support from developers and writers of effects plug-ins. Audio is also another major part of the Video Editing program with integration of Digital Surround Sound 5.1 and effects which can be worked into the Master Edit list. Speaking of that, if you have used previous version and wanted to know if your edit list can be supported, the answer according to Matthew is yes. Sony engineers took an edit list from 1999 and imported that list into the current Vegas Pro 10 with no problems.

Tune in for the segment with TechtalkRadio’s Andy Taylor and Sony Creative Softwares Matthew Brohn and find out how you can try out Sony Vegas Pro 10 for 30days Free and have access to support for question during your trial. http://www.techtalkradio.com/software/sonyvegas10.html

May the Fez Be With You

Andy Taylor at TechtalkRadio has posted an interview with The Force behind http://www.fezorama.com Artist Jason Rodgers talked with Andy about the original idea for the e-commerce site that showcases Custom Fez Creations and how in 1990-91 it really wasn’t viable to just promote over the BBS. Several years later, the artist had not given up on the thoughts of creating his Fez designs and put them on a website he created.

Jason also shared hurdles and concerns when he started up the site but also ways he was able to develop using Open Source software. The idea for success lays in the fact that Jason understands that the market is not only going to come from the surrounding area but also from a worldwide audience of potential buyers. Using the Social Networking of Twitter and Facebook not only allows the marketer to connect with the potential shopper but also form friendships with like minded artist.

Whether it be a different Fez or a complete custom for your event or happening, Jason Rodgers has carved out a pretty strong following and it’s all due to his craft and to the power of the fez.  Listen in to the interview with Jason at http://www.techtalkradio.com/internet/fezorama.html

USB 3.0 Flash Drives exist, Kingston Technology has them…

Kingston USB DTU 3.0 Flash Drive

It was a few weeks ago that TechtalkRadio recieved some USB 3.0 adapters from our friends at TrendNet so we could test out and experience the glory that would be USB 3.0. Seriously, the idea of transfering large files to external drives,  flash drives or even broadcasting or playing back video in HD is possible with the sysem specs of USB 3.0

Andy Taylor of TechtalkRadio made a few calls and reached out to manufacturers for external USB devices and connected with Kingston Technologies. The Fountain Valley California sent us a DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0.

To give you an idea why we were so excited with the concept, The specification for USB 3.0 with the data traverller from Kingston allows for data transfers as fast as 80 MB per second when being read from the drive, and up to 60 MB per second when being written to the drive…up to ten times the rate as USB 2.0 (which is 30 MB per second to read from, and 30 MB per second to write to, those types of drives).

To transfer a 265,441 MB file via a USB 3.0 connection to the drive took about 10 seconds.  Tranferring the same file via USB 2.0 to the drive took about 15 seconds. On the Kingston website it was noted  “During internal testing, a 1 hour 44 minute movie (3.9GB) was written to the drive in 1 minute 13 seconds. Similarly, a 2 hour 23 minute DVD (4.4GB) transferred to the drive at a fast 1 minute 23 seconds.”

I took the Beefy USB DataTraveler out of the packaging and began with the idea of formatting the FAT32 device to NTFS. I then tried a write of a  4.05 GB file:  it needed about two minutes via USB 3.0.  At USB 2.0 it took nearly 4 minutes to complete. Happy indeed was I and I could imagine how time saving this would be moving large amounts of small files.  The product we looked at was the 32GB Model.

The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 is available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities.  For use with some USB 2.0 ports, a Y-cable…that has two Type A plugs, and one Type A receptacle…is included.
