In this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, Andy, Shawn, and Justin discussed their previous recording session, which was postponed due to various reasons. They also talked about their personal lives, including Shawn’s sleep schedule and falling aslep while the show was waiting for him! Justin talks about doing Voiceover work and Andy mentions a great Video on YouTube titled “5 Guys in a Limo” that showcases the best voiceover actors of their time.

Justin tells us a about his decision to buy his son Eric a gaming laptop, the Acer Predator, which has a 4,060 RTX and 16GB RAM. Justin also installed parental control software called Qustodio to monitor Eric’s online activities. However, Eric was more interested in watching YouTube videos on the new laptop than playing games. The guys share some possible games and while Doom and Wolfenstein are mentioned one that Andy wants to try is Power House Washing, a Simulation. Justin also mentioned a YouTube channel called Let’s Game It Out, which they both enjoy watching.

Andy discussed a couplle of products he recently took a look at: the Asus Rog Flow Z13, a gaming laptop/tablet with AMD 395, and the Epson RR600W, a rapid receipt scanner. Andy shared his positive experience with the Asus product, highlighting its performance and features. He also demonstrated the Epson scanner on live TV but encountered issues due to Andy forgetting to plug a cord in! The Epson scanner can scan up to 100 receipts per minute, front and back, and can also scan photos at 600 dpi.

In a segment recorded earlier, Andy welcomes Author Titania Jordan to the show to discuss the challenges of internet safety for children. Titania, the CMO and Chief Parent Officer at Bark Technologies, shared her experiences as a parent and her insights from her book “Parenting in a Tech World”. She emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest information on internet safety, as the situation has evolved significantly since her first book was published in 2020. Andy and Titania discussed the challenges of parenting in the digital age, particularly with regards to children’s use of smartphones and social media. Titania emphasized the importance of being proactive and not waiting until a crisis arises. They also discussed the need for parents to be aware of the constantly evolving language and emojis used by teenagers, and the potential dangers of allowing strangers to communicate with children through apps and games. Titania recommended using safer alternatives such as the Bark app or Bark phone for children’s devices, and advised parents to delay giving their children access to all devices and apps until they are ready. Her latest title is available at Amazon.

Justin, Andy, and Shawn regroup and share the Website of the Week, Lazyfly dot me, which is a challenging game very basic in graphics but fun.

Episode 332 – What Do You put in that Box? https://blog.techtalkradio.com/episode-332-what-do-you-put-in-that-box/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=episode-332-what-do-you-put-in-that-box Sun, 13 Mar 2022 18:27:35 +0000 https://blog.techtalkradio.com/?p=8092 Read More]]>

In this week’s show, Shawn, Justin, and Andy try to decide which streaming service if they had to abandon, what would it be. In this, they talk about some of the great shows and reasons to watch and which ones they have that they would choose from to eliminate. One of the Constants among the three of them is YouTube for watching demo’s, shows, classic clips. Andy found a new reality show on YouTube with good production value and is based in Arizona called Crazy Eights.

Elden Rings is quickly becoming one of the most streamed games and for very good reason. Shawn and Justin talk about the popularity of Elden Rings and what makes this RPG so different from the rest. Andy thought Elden Rings was a New Video Doorbell for the Older Crowd. Andy gets his hands on a ATEM Mini and ask Shawn about some of the key features on the Mini and why this would be a good solution on a Large Zoom Gathering that Andy have been asked to put together.

While Justin passed on his opportunity to get the Valve Steam Desk Shawn tells us about the CEO of Valve hand delivering the Handheld gaming units to buyers in Seattle. Andy shares the Sabrent USB 3.0 4 Bay Docking Station which has a comfortable form factor for the desktop. While it does some RAID configurations Justin and Shawn share the NAS devices they use. Getting your Videos and Photos digitized if you are doing it yourself can be as easy as having a company send you a box however Shawn’s explanation truly nails it.

Big announcement this morning as tech giants Google and Amazon have announced YouTube Apps coming to Amazon Fire TV’s and Fire Sticks. Samsung Galaxy 6 edge+ phone is fantastic! https://blog.techtalkradio.com/samsung-galaxy-6-edge-phone-is-fantastic/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=samsung-galaxy-6-edge-phone-is-fantastic https://blog.techtalkradio.com/samsung-galaxy-6-edge-phone-is-fantastic/#respond Wed, 07 Oct 2015 10:03:53 +0000 http://blog.techtalkradio.com/?p=6056 Read More]]> Periscope, Rdio, Wurrly, the Samsung Galaxy 6 edge+, and the Samsung Galaxy Note5 were discussed on a television segment with Andy. (And he didn’t even say “Hi” to me…)

When he wasn’t looking, I was able to use the phones…enjoyed watching live streaming videos…made some long distance calls (that I never paid for)…took some “selfies” (that I hope my mother never finds out about)…

There are multiple “S6″ models available:

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has a 5.1” dual-edge display, and 3 GB RAM…

The phone I used…provided as a courtesy by AT&T…is the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, which has a 5.7″ (dual-edge) display, and 4 GB RAM.

And with a 64-bit octa-core processor…this thing PERFORMED! I did my best to, within a few weeks, burden it with apps and processes…and am a little embarrassed to say it was able to keep up with me. (“I’ll get you, my pretty…and your little dog, too!”)

It supports wireless charging, and claims that: “After charging for just 10 minutes, you get 4 hours of usage…”

There is a heart rate sensor that partners with “S Health” to collect data about your medical condition.

Fingerprint recognition.

And SideSync, which also support Mac OS, which allows you to: “…share the screen and data between your PC and mobile device. Receive alarms of your phone through PC and use various features of your phone on the computer…”

With “S Voice” from Samsung you can speak commands to your phone (a la Siri, Cortana, etcetera).

I did find information on ATT.com describing that…”The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ helps you share…video with the built-in app and broadcast it to the world via YouTube, letting viewers see it exactly as you’re seeing it in real time.” The User Manual reminds: “You need to sign in to your Google Account and enable live broadcasting in your YouTube settings to use this feature.”

Do look into The Samsung Ultimate Test Drive promotion…it might apply to you because if you purchase: “a qualifying phone…You may be eligible for a $100 Google Play credit. Plus, you could get an extra $100 if you traded in your phone with your Carrier or Retailer.”
