New Show Posted #348 – Justin’s New Pixel Watch

In this Weeks Show Justin returns after a couple of weeks out along with Shawn and Andy. Justin tells us about the loss of the family cat and a service called Caring Pathways which made the sad experience a little easier to deal with. Shawn talks about the origins of his son’s name Max which allows Andy to share info on Emil Minty, the Young Feral Kid from Mad Max (Road warrior) who in Australia bought a Mustang Interceptor only available in that country. Andy shares info on a former Ford Engineer that is building a 1967 Shelby GTO from the ground up and selling them under license from Ford. The guys talk about how the internet has made it easy to buy parts for your cars. Justin tells us about his new Google Pixel watch. Justin shares some of the features of this new smart watch which left him a little underwhelmed. One of the features he wishes he had was a larger watch face although having the watch equipped with LTE is a feature he really likes.

Justin takes a train for a nice getaway, however, wasn’t the best experience and shares what the problems centered around including a situation that seems like it could have gone worse then it did. Justin tells us about the technology of a train trip and using internet services on board. The guys talk about Starlink and how it is being rolled out for Commercial Aviation meanwhile Google Fiber is going to be maxing out around 8GB Up and Down. Shawn shares some record setting in Internet Speeds with the fastest data transmission at 1.84 Petabits per second. What would be the limitations of this? Shawn shares info on the New Wyze Camera V3 Pro and why this is a great advancement. Andy asks about the SD Memory card recommended for speed in the newer devices, Shawn recommends a Class 10. Shawn tells us about using Solar Panels with the Outdoor Cameras

New Episode #347 – Streaming and Steaming!

In this Weeks Show Shawn and Andy talk about digital hoarding and how easy it is to take a file, duplicate it, store it and never delete it. Shawn tells us the normal file usage around the country and how that number does not seem to get smaller. Shawn tells us about Archive.org and The Way Back machine on that site and now the discmaster.textfiles.com.

The guys talk about how web creation has developed over the years from Microsoft Front Page to Dreamweaver to WordPress. Shawn tells us about a site he created with GeoCities. Shawn tells us about waiting in line to play Overwatch 2 and some of the bugs experienced on the first day. Andy wants to remove Toon Blast due to the AI and direction to purchase add-ons. Andy talks about games and the prices going up to own them. Shawn states even more this means the model of subscription services like game pass will be the normal.


Andy tells us about Vidgo and a partnership with Curacao to give 3 months premium service for streaming television services. The guys talk about the benefits of cutting the cord and using this type of service. Shawn and Andy talk about the old days of Netflix and how far they have come yet another price increase has been put in place. Andy talks about Kanopy which may be available through your public library. Apple has announced a new iPad Pro with the M2 Processor.

Andy gets sidelined from Covid 19 for the First time, at the same time Apple has sent him the iPhone 14 Pro Max to look at and Andy is planning to put it through the paces as soon as he is cleared. Shawn tells us about the time lapse he has been doing to the GoPro and one he forgot about!

New Episode #346 – Seeing The Light!?

In this Weeks Show Justin joins Shawn and Andy fresh from his trip to Japan. This doesn’t stop Justin from sharing what he missed about the Apple announcements recently. While Shawn and Andy are excited at what is available from Apple, Justin is very skeptical. Justin tells us about the upcoming announcements from Google regarding Nest, Pixel and Pixel Watch. Shawn talks about some of the products he has from Wyze and answers the question, If Wyze had a Home Assistant, would Shawn get one? He shares why he answered the way he did. Andy isn’t happy with the timelines for smartphone releases and shares why he feels it has become ridiculous. Justin shares some thoughts on the upcoming 4000 series graphics card. Andy takes apart a small little tchotchke he once got from Western Digital, it runs on battery and is still running!

Andy has a tech question for Shawn and Justin regarding a failed Windows Update. Andy shares the problems around this and wonders if updating to a fresh install or new system is going to be the solution. Justin tells us about traveling to Japan and putting together some videos using Tik Tok. Andy has finally fully transferred his info for 1password and just as he was willing to give up Shawn told Andy just to let it take on, which was great advice. Shawn tells us about DJI and the Wireless Video Transmitter called DJI Transmission,

Shawn tells us about the year 2008 and World of Warcraft and how he is now playing an expansion Wrath of the Lich king Classic and how it has been a big nostalgic bump!

Justin reminds Andy, this is not the way to See the Blockbuster Movie while the guys talk about today Home Theater Setups and how many can replicate some of that sound in theaters. Andy shares info on the recent security update from Apple and Shawn tells us more about the affected devices. Andy gets a look at the Samsung Z Fold 4 and is impressed at the look of the device. Some tech experts are saying this is the worst time to try and buy a new device, but Justin disagrees. Andy discovers that Elvis Presley was a big fan of Technology and was one of the first to have an Analog Phone in his Car. Shawn breaks down the innovations over the years of this Technology.

Andy talks about how Google Password Manager has failed and now he is looking for a new password manager and is wondering about the difference between 1Password and Norton. Justin and Shawn both recommend 1Pass. Justin tells us about the Virtual Machine Thycotic for Admins which helps manage logins and password management. Shawn tells about thwarting an attempt to give up info for a hack. This serves as a reminder to use 2FA (Dual Authentication). Andy buys a Yubico YubiKey for Hardware Authentication and talks about putting it to use. Shawn talks about how some wanting to get your data using Social Engineering. Shawn shares A story about a penetration test of getting into an office and plugging into their network and how one tester made it easy.

Andy gets a monitor to replace the two Samsung 49 Ultra-Wide’s that were defective. He goes with an LG 35" Ultra-Wide with 100hz Refresh and 5ms response time but a few days later finds a Dell 34" with 144hz and 2ms and wonders which is better. The guys recommend the Dell. Justin also recommends using 3DMark to get a performance test. Andy shows off the DJI Mini 3 Pro Drone with RC and Shawn shares why he is a fan of the DJI Drones. Shawn gives us some good websites to check out for getting started with flying including getting it registered at FAADroneZone.Com. Justin fires up Star Citizen again and maps out controls using his Stream Deck. Shawn tells us about Bit Focus Companion which can work with Stream Deck for Key Binding. The Latest games released this week include Saints Row, Spiderman Remastered, and Death Stranding
