Andy Taylor Wears the Ekids Pokemon Headphone – We think his Big Ole Melon is Stretching them out!

Andy Taylor shares a comprehensive overview of the Ekids Pokemon Headphones, Pikachu Style as well as some considerations when choosing a laptop. First up, the Pokemon Headphones:

Perfect for kids (and even Andrew!) on road trips or during study sessions with some enjoyable tunes. These headphones boast both Bluetooth capability for wireless convenience and an included cord for older non-Bluetooth devices, catering to various preferences. Designed with younger ears in mind, they also feature sound reduction to safeguard children’s hearing.

The EKids Pokemon Headphones are not only stylish but also foldable, making them an excellent travel companion. With approximately 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, they’re reliable for extended use. Additionally, the built-in microphone comes in handy for Zoom classes and other online interactions. And the best part? These headphones are priced affordably at around $25.

Ekids Pokemon Pikachu Headphones:

  • Bluetooth capability and included cord for non-Bluetooth devices.
  • Sound reduction feature for young ears.
  • Foldable design for easy travel.
  • Up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge.
  • Includes a microphone, useful for Zoom classes.
  • Priced at around $25.

Are you considering a new laptop but questioning the need to invest $1700 in a ROG Laptop? We’ve got you covered. Unless you’re an active gamer relying on your machine as your main hub, a more budget-friendly option in the range of $300 to $1200 can offer diverse benefits. Wondering what features to prioritize? Look for a laptop with three USB ports—ideally including a USB 3.1 port and, if possible within your budget, a USB-C port. The trend of USB-C-compatible devices is on the rise. Andy also recommend a Portable Storage device such as the IronKey 200 from Kingston which today announced a USB C Version of the Secure Flash Drive.

For those on a tighter budget and limited to two USB ports, ensure your laptop has Bluetooth functionality. Pairing a Bluetooth mouse can free up a port. Storage is crucial too. I recommend a minimum of 500GB or even better, 1TB SSD or M.2 storage, considering our reliance on cloud storage. To expand your options, consider adding a backup drive.

When it comes to screen size, a 15.6-inch screen offers a sweet spot, providing ample resolution without the need for a cumbersome 17-inch screen. An HDMI port opens the door to adding a second monitor, enhancing your workspace.

And now, the big question: Chromebook, Windows, or Mac? If you’re dealing with software programs that require installation, a PC or Mac-based system is the way to go. Although Chromebooks have evolved significantly and offer great features, I’ve found more versatility in PC/Mac systems, catering to a wider range of tasks and needs.

While Andy had added that Purchasing an over $1700 Laptop may not be what’s needed, if talking about a MacBook – Prices can start generally higher than PC based laptop however some will attest so productivity right out of the box.

Laptop Considerations:

  • For non-active gamers, a sub-$300 to $1200 laptop is recommended.
  • USB Ports: Aim for three USB ports, including at least one USB 3.1 and possibly a USB-C port.
  • Storage: Minimum 500GB SSD or M.2 storage, ideally 1TB for more space. A backup drive can provide additional options.
  • Screen Size: A 15.6-inch screen with good resolution is commonly preferred over a 17-inch screen.
  • HDMI Port: Useful for connecting a second monitor.
  • OS Choice: PC or Mac-based systems are better if you need to install software programs. Chromebooks are a good choice if you’re comfortable with their limitations and prefer web-based applications.
