In this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, Andy, Slick and Shawn open with the Big Week of Tech with the Consumer Electronics Show. As Shawn says, it seems that this year, Exhibitors and Attendees are All in with the latest gadgets, gear and services. Last year one of the talked about features was the emergence of the “Flying Car.” It creates lots of questions when it comes to regulation by Local, State and Federal Agencies. Shawn feels it could be a dangerous situation which could have people as he says “Die.”

Vehicles over the years continue to be enhanced by Technology at CES, including the sound systems and other vehicles for entertainment while on the road. The crew talks about Radio itself and how will listeners with so many options stays tuned to AM and FM. TV Programmers have also become concerned with Network Programming losing out to Streaming and Cable Choices. Slick shares a story of riding in an Hired Ride and the drivers not having it on local radio.

A Discussion on AI as Slick shares thoughts and legal ramifications on how this use could be challenged in court with the AI Fraud Act. Shawn reminds us how Terms of Service could be reworked for AI Inclusion and reminds listeners to read the fine print. Another Listener Question, Jill is in a pickle after promising to buy a computer for a Neice. They want a Top End Mac, and the guys talk about solutions for Jill. Slick lets us know that he has ventured into the World of Mac and tells us about his Mac Book Pro.

Carl sent us a question about a New Laptop which doesn’t have a CD/DVD Drive bay. With many photos and files on digital media what are his options. Shawn tells us about an External Option for the Media to utilize and for Mac users the SuperDrive. The question on Storing to the cloud is also discussed. Slick tells us about Mega at mega.io and how they offer cloud storage at a Reasonable Price. Shawn is a fan of Google Drive and tells us about the paid storage plan he uses and shares with family members. The Netflix Movie Leave the World Behind questions how some have eliminated physical media and how a internet outage would take away the option for entertainment.

This week in 2000, AOL purchased Time Warner – Slick tells us about working for AOL and one tech support call that stood out for him. Shawn circles back around to CES and tells us about the Transparent TV from LG, Slick talks about https://www.Cseed.com – The World’s first unfolding LED TV. Andy likes the Clicks device, an iPhone Keyboard Case with a Keyboard on it. https://www.clicks.tech Andy buys the Ukonic Officially Licensed X-Box Series S Toaster.

Shawn shows us the Brushless Battery Powered Dust/Vacumn device from ATEngus

For this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, Andy, Slick and Shawn welcome in 2024 and the guys talk about how times have changed from when you had to remember to not write the previous year on a check. Tucson celebrates the dropping of the Taco in Downtown Tucson with Taco Bell. Shawn tells us about living in Ludington Michigan and how they would do a ball drop and how Shawn was challenged to livestream at the time this event. Microwave transmitting verses what is available with LiveU or Teradek Bonded Cell Streaming is discussed and how this is accomplished today as streaming for station websites has become more popular. Shawn talks about how Starlink is moving into this area as well. The old microwave transmission for TV or Marti for Radio had its benefits but there were incidents when somebody would forget to lower the tower mast!

Listeners send in questions for the show, first up was Jennifer – She was looking for info on using What’s App and if it is something she could find useful. Slick breaks down some of the features and options while Shawn shares another benefit for Global Connections. Shirley sends an Email about taking on a volunteer position and wants to know if she should get a Microsoft365 Subscription. The guys tout the benefits of using Google Docs for Shirley and being able to use it anywhere with a connection.

Microsoft pushes ahead with the Microsoft Co-Pilot program available on iOS devices as well as Android Devices. The integration of AI into Bing has given birth to CoPilot which has benefits for those that want to use it. The guys talk about the AI Generated stories that have a feeling of “uncanny valley.” Shawn talks about his this could make education more difficult for not only teachers but also the students. The guys talk about how the birth of the internet for most, changed the game in schools. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been named Game of the Year 2023 by Steam and Shawn tells us about the experience of playing and a recent story in the news about the game.

CES begins January 9th in Las Vegas, Jessica Booth Director of Research for Consumer Technology Association joins the show to talk about the upcoming show and some of the highlights to check out. Jessica shares some of the Keynote presentations including Snap and Loreal and how they embrace technology. We also learned about a couple of themes for this year, Tech For Good and how using technology can be used for Sustainability and even help to battle food insecurities. Jessica tells us about the Jackery Solar Mars Bot which could also help in the development of Alternative Power Sources. Eureka Park will return with some great opportunities for startups at this year’s CES.

Returning to the show is 60 Sec Tech, Shawn begins with his story of Flipper Zero and how popular it has become. Slick focuses on how Microsoft Outlook is now Free for the time being on the Mac. Andy rants about the Public Domain and how already Steamboat Willie has been transformed into a Horror Film following the success of the Horror film with Winnie the Pooh character.
