The Best Mic’s For the Job!

In this week’s show, Justin, Shawn, and Andy are all back on this show and talk about El Gato Stream Deck. Andy was looking for a product to feature for the Tech Segment for KMSB Fox 11 and looked at the Stream Deck XL. Justin has been using one and goes over some of the features of the Stream Deck including Folder nesting and easier assigning hot keys for not only streaming but also gaming. Shawn has been using the ATEM Mini from Black Magic Design and how the product has been an answer to many video programs that are used in Houses of Worship. Shawn shares that the Stream Desk could be used to work in hand with the ATEM Mini for ease of use. Andy talks about running into Alicia at Best Buy and how she was handling Marketing and looking for a Solution for recording audio to go with great looking video. Shawn recommends great Audio for a reasonable price with the Yeti Nano and the Rode NT USB Microphone. Andy loves the Rodecaster which is a Production Studio in a box.

There was some confusion with an announcement this week with a product from Valve, The Steam Deck. The product is a Handheld gaming unit, like the Nintendo Switch, with a 7′ Screen and many other great features. The Steam Deck can play the game titles in their Steam Library and non-limited as the Nintendo Switch is to only Nintendo titles. Justin gives us the rundown on the Valve Steam Deck. Justin shares his story of ordering one and thinking it was not going to go through, it did. Now we have to setup a GoFundMe for his Purchase! The Steam Deck is set for release in December.

The guys talk about hoarders that are buying up technology with bots making purchases and then reselling them. The Question is poised, how could this be circumvented, and Shawn believes more Brick-and-Mortar Sales could be one solution with set times and pre orders from the authorized retailers based on pre orders from the store which would have to be picked up in person. A Chip Shortage is causing even new aircraft to not be able to have Wi-Fi due to the Shortage. The Shortage has caused the increase in sale of Used Vehicles. Andy talks about the upcoming Windows365, a Cloud based version of the Windows Operating System and the cost and wonders who would do this? The guys talk about the alternatives. Microsoft Windows365 should be available August 2nd. Shawn talks about a recent test in Japan that produced 319Tbps which could essentially allow 7000 HD Movies to be downloaded in seconds. Obviously, the bottlenecks would not make this viable, but the thought puts a smile on our faces! The guys talk about the cost of High-Speed Internet as it is now.

Justin shares info on his New Synology DS920+ NAS and why he loves it! He installed the Virtual Machine Manager and talks about the Linux Distributions he is using. Shawn tells us about his JBOD NAS system. Shawn shares some great info from Wyze, Multicolored LED Strips! We have been hoping and lobbying for them to make Christmas lights and these are pretty darn close so far.
