E3 – Not all about the Software!

I had the chance to talk to some friends from SteelSeries today about some of the products they will be sharing on the show floor when E3 Officially opens tomorrow. The Electronic Entertainment Expo opens its doors to the crowds of industry representatives and the media June 10th and runs through the 13th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

SteelSeries continues to develop accessories for the PC and Console Gamer with everything from Keyboards, Gaming Mice and awesome headsets. One product announced that can help your game play which is different from the traditional products in the company line is the SteelSeries “Sentry” Eye-Tracker

The SteelSeries “Sentry” Eye-Tracker has been developed in conjunction with Tobii Technology.  Gamers benefit with this device with a tracking of eye movements and shares that data with the user as bench-marked and compared to the movements of professional gamers.  The SteelSeries press release explains it easier:

“The SteelSeries Sentry Eye Tracker brings players an entirely new way to train for competitive gaming, by allowing the player to analyze a wide range of statistics based on where and how long a user focused, or fixated, on the screen. Fixations per Minute (FPM) tracks how often a user moves his or her eye gaze and attention around the screen; low values indicate that the gamer is able to process a lot of information. For comparison, FPM in eye tracking is the same type of correlation as APM or the total numbers of actions per minute a player can perform.”  While we could say it’s all in the wrist, obviously from this addition to E3, it’s also in the eyes.

vampgameIt seems that people like vampires…and the vampires they find our prevalent in theatrical movies (Dracula, Twilight, Near Dark), Television shows (True Blood, Vampire Diary’s, Dracula) and of course books…

There has always been a sort of romantic nod to Dracula, sure he might give a tremendous kiss on the neck but lets remember, that kiss usually brings about death – or at least towns people all reeking of garlic. Either way, that romanticism with The Vampire is a 10 billion dollar revenue creator to the economy according to the article  from 2011 at DailyFinance.com – This during the Twilight Saga wrap up but the genre continues

Need For Speed
Need For Speed

There are some Video Game titles out there that just scream the need for a movie Boot up. I would gladly fork over the 8 bucks to see a Big Screen Version of the story lines and characters found in Call Of Duty.

In the world of Game to Movie Tie-ins, One of the titles that has been talked about heavily is the big Screen version of Need For Speed!

The Film co-produced by Electronic Arts is Coming to Theaters March 14th 2014.  The film version of Need For Speed Stars Aaron Paul (Jesse – Breaking Bad) as Tobey Marshall, a recently released jail inmate that was setup by his business partner and wrongfully convicted and put away for the crimes. His release means revenge against Dino, his ex partner, played by Dominic Cooper.  The actor most recently seen as Ian Fleming in the BBC presentation of “Fleming”

The Race is on with producers promising big action and great stunts. The Film is directed by Stunt Man turned Director Scott Waugh.
