Learning the Code with Tynker

For some of us lucky to have experienced DOS, we can appreciate the process of typing in a few lines of “Basic” coding and accomplishing a task. While the coding has become more complex, the ability to handle task can be created easily with the help from Tynker.

If you haven’t  become aware of what Tynker is, the Company develops programs to help teach children and adults alike to learn the processes of coding.  Students of the Coding Arts will experience everything from designing blocks to outputting code in JavaScript and Python languages. Visitors to the Tynker website will see courses for not only Children, they will view options for parents as well as educators.

The Coding education can take place in a classroom as well as self paced courses with those learning Coding while designing elements of minecraft or other games.

An announced collaboration today between Tynker and Parrot can now expand the learning to code feature to Drones manufactured by Parrot. According to the company those wanted to learn to code through Tynker and Parrot will learn;

  • Programming a drone’s flight path from takeoff to landing
  • Building a drone controller to pilot a drone in real time
  • Programming flips, turns, and other aerial stunts
  • Integrating loops and variables to make geometric patterns
  • Coding games such as Flappy Drone and drone racing
  • Taking an aerial photo and sharing it with friends or classmates

According to the Tynker website, 50 Million children in over 200 countries are experiencing coding through Tynker in educational system .  With Parrot Mambo Code, users will be able to create and easily understand the outcome of codes as they apply to a drone.

A Bundle has been put together by Tynker and Parrot which includes a Parrot Mambo minidrone and a six-month premium subscription to Tynker. The minidrone comes complete with a mini-ball launcher, grabber, 50 plastic balls, USB cable, and battery; the Tynker subscription includes eight mobile (iPad) coding courses, 18 online coding courses, over 350 puzzle levels, more than 100 tutorials, and a virtual drone flight simulation course. New Coaster at Six Flags St Louis Launches with VR

This is one of the coolest ideas we’ve heard of in awhile. VR Coasters. With this concoction you aren’t just sitting in an easy chair with some VR Gear strapped on to your head – This is taking an environment and enhancing it with Virtual Reality. Riders wear the Oculus powered Samsung Galaxy Gear VR and take a real roller coaster ride while enjoying a world around the ride designed by Animators.

This has been created in partnership with Samsung Electronics America and features an amazing 360 loop and interactive game play during the ride

Virtual Reality on Ninja Facts:

  • Riders wearing Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus headsets, find themselves in the copilot seat of a fighter jet as they take on aliens in a battle to save the world;
  • This 360°, fully immersive, virtual battle takes guests flying through 2,430 feet of track at up to 65 mph;
  • The fighter jet darts between buildings, completing intense aerial acrobatics while guests travel through the 360°loop and corkscrew of the coaster’s steel track;
  • Sensors and proxies along the coaster track sync the movement of the coaster to the video riders are watching on their Samsung Gear VR headsets;
  • The experience begins as soon as riders leave the station house and start up the lift hill. While climbing the lift hill or going through the launch pad, guests can shoot at targets with a touch pad on the side of the headsets, making this the first game play ever used on a roller coaster.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC Available TODAY!

210x176I have to wonder what RockStar Games is doing to me! Releasing a highly anticipated game title with one day left for the Tax Deadline! I wonder how many gamers will flip the coin today!?

When you hear the title “Grand Theft Auto” You generally know this is a game that has a history of violence and situations that should only be operated by an adult. The very successful franchise continues to this day and technically it is not just a thrown together schlock fest, it couldn’t be –  Gamer’s wouldn’t go for it.

A successful Video Game Franchise will come from the loyalty of the gaming crowd that in turn will expect high end graphics and fluid game play and that is what the good folks at Rockstar Games are handing out.
