Justin visits his mom in South Dakota who also has a 3D printer, and the guys talk about the progresses in the technology to make 3D Printing even easier. Justin recommends not only printers but also some websites for finding “templates” for creations on the 3D Printers. Shawn tells us how resourceful it can be to have access to a 3D Printer for business applications. Justin talk about the products they he has made. Andy talks about installing a Google Nest Thermostat and how easy it was to do. Shawn talks about the upcoming Wyze Thermostat and some new Wyze cameras for home monitoring.

The new Google Pixel 5 has Justin sharing his thoughts on the latest 5G Smartphone but packed with features he is looking forward to. Shawn and Justin talk about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Shawn tells us about Virtual Reality with the New Star Wars Squadrons and how amazing it is. The guys share how this also enhances the simulator in Flight Simulator.

New Show Posted Episode 288 – I Got Sweat In Strange Places

In this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, Andy Taylor, Justin Shawn DeWeerd and John Broadway, open the show with a talk about Andy’s Air Conditioning going out. The guys talk about how technology has become a part of the Air Conditioning systems and controlling it with the Nest Thermostat. Shawn talks about the upcoming Wyze Thermostat. Monitoring with video is also discussed and while the guys haven’t been happy with the Ring Video Doorbell system Andy has been talking about the Nest Cameras he has on his garage and how he caught a bird dive into his parked vehicle and knock himself out.

Shawn mentions the Wyze Doorbell Camera, yet Justin wonders how it is possible. Justin wonders if there is a correlation to Tik Toc to provide data. Shawn tells us however about the background of Wyze and why they are rooted from former engineers from Amazon that wanted to provide technology at an affordable price.  The guys talk about the reasons they liked and disliked Tik Toc. The guys talk about Podcast and how the length of time in those shows has increased to almost 2 hours. Andy gives props to a couple of shows he likes BoxOfficeQBs and The Paul and Griff Show.

John gets himself a new Microphone, he gets the Aston Stealth Microphone and loves it. He talks about the setup for him to record. Shawn gets the Nikon D850 and shares what he loves about it.

Andy tells about a new feature in Photoshop, Sky Replacement, that will be featured at the Adobe Max Conference on the 20th of October. Andy gives Dreamweaver CC a try and loves it noticing how much faster it is then the 5.5 Version he has been using. Microsoft starts doing presales for the upcoming Xbox and there were lots of problems with the ordering. Justin explains why the issues popped up.

Director of Digital Marketing Josh Mortensen for AtGames visits the show to talk about some new products coming from the Company. Josh tells us about the Arcades Legends Ultimate, which is now available, 300 titles in a full stand up arcade game. Andy loves a lot of the features including the amount of titles and the facts that the machines are internet enabled.  For those games with trackballs like Missile Command, the stand-up includes a trackball. Josh also tells us about Arcade Net which can ad games. Also available is the Gamer Pro which allows you to connect directly to your Big Screen TV and play your favorite games.

New Show Posted : Episode 284 WE are the Beta Testers!

For this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, Shawn, Justin, and Andy talk about the game Fall Guy and Why it has become more popular. Broadway has been streaming with Restream playing the Battle Royale game and Shawn compares it to Mario Party and the TV Show Wipeout. Fall Guys is available on Steam or PS4. Shawn tells us about some of the different maps involved and that it is Family Friendly and a Lot of Fun! Justin and Shawn give us an update on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and surprisingly when responding to the graphics quality they are not blown away. We get an overall review of the Title from Justin and Shawn. Broadway jumps into the cast and shares his frustrations with forgetting to jump and get the crown in Fall Guys.

Shawn shares info on still running Windows 95 on a virtual desktop. Android is going to work better with Windows 10 and the guys talk about this. Shawn talks about an Outage that occurred on Zoom. New Show Added! Itchin to Fly! Episode 283!

For this Weeks TechtalkRadio Show, It is All about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020! Officially released just before recording, Justin and Shawn share some highlight from the Newest version of the popular flight simulator. Andy tells a story about his moms’ boss that had the flight simulator version in DOS, and it had special key in case you got caught flying at work which would escape into a Spreadsheet. The guys wonder if this will give users the bug about taking it to the next step and getting into flight training.  Shawn wants to get the setup to use Virtual Reality for flying. Broadway tells us about learning to operate a Tank using Virtual Reality. Justin talks about VAT Sim and how he is looking forward to checking it out. Amanda gets herself a new Amplify Mesh System, Broadway has one and talks about the extended coverage and throughput of this router. Broadway talks about how easy it is to set up and use and the many features of the Amplify. Shawn shares with us his new Wyze Outdoor Security Camera which was only $45. We learn about setting it up and the Travel Mode on the Wyze Cam. The guys talk about this Battery powered device which promises long battery life but could also be powered by a small solar device. Andy buys himself a Lepow 15.6 USB-C Portable Monitor for adding/extending a screen for his laptop but can also be used for a smart phone. Andy wants a better stand for the Lepow, and Amanda and Justin talk about making one with the 3D Printer.

Andy fixes a laptop that was diagnosed as a dead logic board by another repair shop and the owner was told it needed to be replaced. She chose not to and gave it to Andy who took it and found it was a battery on the board and defective hard drive. He talks about the troubleshooting to bring the system back to life. Windows pushes through some major updates which causes problems for those using systems for Work and the updates not allowing it. PC Gamer wrote an article that this is the time to upgrade memory and SSD Drives due to products flooding the market. Justin talks about PC Parts Picker. 

Justin talks about the competition between Walmart and Amazon and how a membership plan is starting with Walmart. A new reality for dealing with the pandemic is using the Apps to order food, Andy hated the idea but now, it’s the only way he wants to do it! Justin is intrigued by a project called Neuralink he heard about on the Joe Rogan Experience while talking with Elon Musk. Justin shares some of the finer aspects of what this technology could do and helping in the health aspects of society however Shawn and Andy are a little concerned at what this could do.
